Estaleiros Navais do Mondego, the second largest shipbuilding yard in Portugal, has almost 80 years of history in shipbuilding and ship repair, having built more than 250 ships\/vessels and various metal structures, and is also the yard that has built the most vessels for the Portuguese Navy – seventy-seven (77).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2012 Atlanticeagle Shipbuilding (AES) secured the concession for the Mondego Shipyards and kept all the technical expertise and human resources, adding staff from the former S\u00e3o Jacinto Shipyards (Aveiro). In this way, two real schools in the shipbuilding field were brought together, guaranteeing continuity in the high quality of construction and repair that is widely recognized, in which aluminum constructions stand out, a feature that still remains and makes this shipyard unique in Portugal.<\/p>\n

AES benefits from a privileged location near the mouth of the Mondego River (Figueira da Foz – Portugal) and an available area of around 60,000m2. In 2022, the two sole partners of AES, Timor-Leste and Bruno Costa, began a process of recovering and improving the physical, structural and organizational conditions of the shipyard, with a view to revitalizing and boosting it from a long-term perspective. It was possible to restore buildings and equipment, re-establish and even improve production and control processes, preparing the company to return to the forefront, creating the conditions to become more competitive and sustainable in the long term.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The company’s strategy is to diversify and metalworking will also be one of our bets. With growing demand, we are a construction site with the installed capacity to carry out all types of work in this area.<\/p>\n

The new reality of Offshore <\/i>renewable energies will also be a great opportunity for shipyards in Portugal, and since Figueira da Foz is the largest of the five areas that have been authorized by the Portuguese State, we will enjoy a privileged location and conditions to collaborate and support this true industrial revolution.<\/p>\n

The strategy and success of this company, which is classified as being of national strategic interest, will necessarily involve the training and transfer of knowledge. In fact, training will be a fundamental pillar in the long-term investment we are making.
